ESMS 7th Grade Hoopsters Split with LMS

Tifton – 7th Grade Girls Coach Teresa Walker emptied her bench, playing every player on her squad against the visiting Lowndes Middle School Vikettes, but after 4 frames, Lowndes failed to find the basket. ESMS would win 60-0.  On the Boys side, ESMS would fall short against Lowndes, meeting a NBA center named Briar Touchton. Touchton stood a foot taller than any other player on the floor, coming in at an estimated 6’4″ and 245.  His 11 points didn’t truly show the effect he had under the rim. Dominating the paint, Lowndes would load the bus with a 42-32 victory.

Leading the way for ESMS in the girls’ victory was Jamia Level. She finished with 20 points in 3 qtrs of work, followed by Trinity Fields with 10 points, while Emily Golden and Tatyannah Daniels would find the hoop for 8 points. ESMS will play 7th Grade games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, alternating out of town on one of the two days each week.

In the nightcap, Lowndes would lead all scorers with McBurrough, who had 12, Touchton’s 11 points, and Brown finished with 10. Lowndes won the paint battle, despite hitting just 7 for 29 at the charity stripe.
