Riflery: Tift finishes 2nd at Ware

Waycross – Tift County Air Rifle Coach Brad Winger and his band of shooters went to Waycross for the first meet of the season, and did well. Most air rifle matches are in a 3×10 format ( 3 positions (kneeling, standing, prone) 10 shots per position) but Ware was a 3×20 format. Ware County would win the overall but Tift found a way to place second out of several teams.

In a 3×20 format, the same three positions are used, but the shooter has to fire 20 shots. Because the shot number is higher, more time is given to the shooter to complete the course. It’s more challenging in that the longer time and number of shots requires the shooter to use more energy and tires them out.

For Tift, Hannah Rucker was 4th High in the individual rankings, and Sophomore Nicole Taylor was 8th. No other scores were available at the time of this article, but will be updated as they become available.
