There were periods of brightness for the young Worth County squad, as they stayed with Tift for the most part in the 1st frame. Tift would outscore the Lady Rams 11-7, but for eight minutes, Worth looked to play solid fundamental basketball. Conner and her squad changed their attack in the 2nd period, as Worth’s shot selection dropped off, and Tift used Moneisha Goldsborough in the paint. Lindsey Tonegay, the Junior Center for Worth, needed help in the lane, and couldn’t answer Goldsborough’s drives. The Senior post would score 8 of her 10 points in the period, helping Tift to a 17-0 run as the Lady Rams were held scoreless until the half. Tift would carry a 28-7 to the locker room.

After the break, Tift would mirror the first period performance, outscoring Worth 11-7 but building the lead to 39-14. PLaying reserves for much of the 4th, Tift would be outscored by Worth 7-6, but win 46-21.

For Tift, Dayana Chaney, a Sophomore shooting guard led the way with 11 points. Chaney hit two 3-pointers in the second half, and converted three foul shots in the first period after being fouled shooting after another from behind the line. Joining Chaney, Golsborough added her 10 points, and point guard Audrey McElhaney finished with 9 points.

Worth was led DeAundra Smith, who finished with 9 points of the 21. Cassidy Odum added 6 points, and played a more comfortable, complete game for the Lady Rams.

Worth falls to 0-4 and will travel to Carrollton on Saturday for a contest with North Paulding. Tift moves to 4-0 and will host Fitzgerald in the closing game of the Zaxby’s Thanksgiving Classic @ TCHS. Game Time is 7:30PM at the Palace.
