Fitzgerald uses ground game, advances 49-21

Fitzgerald – The Purple Hurricanes used 495 yards of offense to send the Knights of Pace Academy back to Atlanta with a season-ending loss 49-21. Pace entered as #4 seed from Region 6-AA. The Knights upset Bowdon and Jefferson to get to this contest, but had no answer for Jason Strickland’s Hurricane offense.

While statistics were incomplete as of this writing, Gerald Morgan, Fitzgerald’s 6’2″ Senior running back, accounted for roughly 176 yards of the offense, and was the leading rusher. Fitzgerald never trailed, striking first in the first frame.

Up 35-7,  Fitzgerald put it on cruise control in the second half, playing conservative, but hitting for two more touchdowns for the victory, 49-21.

Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Vidalia, capitalizing on Vidalia mistakes to win big 34-22.  Game time is slated for 7:30PM on Friday, Dec.5th AT JAYCEE Stadium in Fitzgerald.
