Wrestling: Tift dominates Berrien, TCC

The Tift County Blue Devils hosted a home match against the Berrien County Rebels and the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets Tuesday, December 2nd. The Devils came out strong winning both dual matches for JV and Varsity.

The Devils JV team had a successful evening with 2 wins defeating the Yellow Jackets 24 to 21 and then defeating the Rebels 14 to 9.

The Devil’s Varsity team left it all on the mat defeating the Yellow Jackets 66 to 14. Theyracked up 10 pins against TCC includingJake Pratt, Quen Cambell, Cole Dillard, Jerry Rodriguez and Draven Anderson who all pinned their opponents within the first period. The Devils lost in their
126, 195 and 220 weight classes and received a forfeit in the 106.

The Devils took on the rebels for the last dual of the evening, defeating them 73 to 12 with 5 pins. Pratt, Cambell, Burks and Charley Powell all pinned within the first period. The devils received 5 forfeits in the 106, 113, 170, 195, and 285 weight classes.  The Devils fell in the 138 and 220 weight classes to the only wins for Berrien.

The Devils will be back at home Saturday December 6, for the Blue Devil Invitational. The Devils will be hosting teams from all around South Georgia. Wrestling will begin at 9:00 AM.
