Lady Rebels cruise to easy victory over Crisp

Ashburn -Over the past several years, the Crisp County Lady Cougars and the Turner County Lady Rebels, whose schools are separated by just under 20 miles, have had their share of battles. But this year, the Lady Rebels have had the number of their neighbors to the north. Just under three weeks after defeating the Lady Cougars in Cordele 55-16, the Lady Rebels again had no trouble em route to a relatively stress free 59-36 victory.

To the credit of Crisp County, they have shown obvious improvement since the first matchup with Turner County. The Lady Rebels only led 27-16 at the break. But a strong second half enabled the Lady Rebels to open up a lead and set it on cruise control.

Junior Mylashia Yancey, who came in averaging almost 20 points per game and has led the Lady Rebels in scoring every game this season, finished with a game high 28 points. Taylor Daniels also finished in double figures with 10 points.

The win improves the record of the Lady Rebels to a perfect record of 9-0. This weekend, they will host Brooks County on Friday night at approximately 6:30 as part of the annual Ronalda Pierce Holiday Hoopfest.
