Turner handles Red Devils 62-46

Ashburn- Once the dust settled from all the appeals with the GHSA Class A playoff power ratings, the brackets were set, and for the Turner County Lady Rebels, they would be taking on a familiar opponent in the Hawkinsville Lady Red Devils. The two squads met back on January 19. The Lady Rebels won that contest  65-59 but Hawkinsville led for most of the game. The rematch took place Friday night at the Ronalda Pierce Civic Center in Ashburn in the first round of the Class A public playoffs. The two teams were tied after one quarter at 12-12 before the home squad out scored the visitors 20-9 in the second quarter to take a 32-21 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Lady Rebels continued to build on their lead in the third quarter as the lead was stretched out to 16 at 45-29 by the end of the quarter. Yancey finished with a game high 24 points and 11 rebounds while Daniels finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Also scoring a double double was Brishuana Barnes with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
