Getting Wet! Tift Sweeps first Tri-Meet

Tifton – If it seems strange that it’s November 5, and 80 degrees outside in south Georgia, it is. As such, Tift County held their first swim meet of the season at the Tiftarea YMCA’s aquatic center. When the water settled, Tift took a win in both the varsity categories.

The Tift girls won 685 points while visiting Lee County took 353, and Jeff Davis finished with 216. On the Varsity Boys side, Tift finished with 745, Lee took 248, and Jeff Davis added 153 on the night. The middle school programs also competed, with Eighth Street taking another girl’s win for Tift County. ESMS took 505 to Lee’s 453 in a tight contest.Jeff Davis’ middle school girls finished with 346.  Lee’s boys middle school team when home with a win, garnering 631 points to 297 for ESMS and Jeff Davis’ 56.

There is a possibility that some competitors made their state cuts during this meet. Tift travels to Columbus today for their second competition of the year.
